Eastern Panhandle Camaro Assoc.

We will be having a day cruise up Skyline Drive on October 11. Will will start at the beginning at Skyline Caverns in Front Royal, VA and travel to Luray, VA from there. Once at Luray, we will take a tour of the caverns. When done, we will head back home.

This cruise will over many scenic vantage points, so we will be pulling off a few times to get some good group photos. We will also stop for a bite to eat for dinner on the way home.


We will be inviting the Maryland club as well.

I will send out more information on times in a few days, but plan on this being a whole day trip.


Rain date will be October 17.

Here are the prices for the Caverns:

GENERAL ADMISSION RATES
Adults: $21.00
Children (Ages 6 – 12): $10.00
Children (Ages 5 and under): No charge when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Senior Citizens (Ages 62+): $18.00

GROUP RATES (Minimum 20 or more paying persons)
Adults: $14.50
Children (Ages 6 – 12): $7.00

Speaking of dinner. I was thinkiing about this again. I know I mentioned the BBQ Restaurant on the mountain. But,if anyone would like something different like pizza, then I know a spot in Front Royal ( The Melting Pot) that makes the best pizza around.

We can decide on food. Since you have done this ride before Paul, maybe you can sort of plan the trip out as far as where to stop(overlooks for pictures) as well as the best places for our group to stop and eat.

i wont beable to make this as i will be on call , I would switch with some one to make it but i already switch for some one and took that week from them.

We did find out there is a $15 charge per vehicle to enter Skyline Drive and that pass last for one week.

You had mentioned you and your Dad are looking for others to join in the ride to Skyline Caverns. Since I think you come from the Mburg area, what route would you be taking? Wouldn't mind meeting up. I'm in Stephenson, so I can take any route heading south.

We will prolly take I-81 South and than hit I-66 into Front Royal. If you want, we can meet you at the Flying J truckstop. You would have to backtrack a little, but we will probably be stopping there anyways.

Sounds good. Back track is only a couple of miles. Later in the week, we can decide on a time.

We will be meeting at Skyline Caverns at 10am in the morning. Anyone interested can meet up at Flying-J truckstop at 9:30 to cruise to the caverns.
