Very Successful New Camaro Unveiling at WIn Kelly Chevrolet

Postby jmcbeth » Wed May 13, 2009 10:44 pm

OK, you wanted more traffic on this site....

The new Camaro unveiling at Win Kelly was last Wednesday, May 6 from 7 to 9 PM. It was an awesome event with over 400 people in attendance.

All five generations were represented in the showroom, including my '69 Z/28. The unveiling took place at 7:30, when a 6-speed red 2SS purchased by one of the MD Camaro club members was unveiled. She then drove the car home!

There were two other new 6 cylinder Camaros outside in the rain. One had been purchased before the event and the other one was sold at the event.

There was music, food and beer and wine.

I was very, very nervous, but had a family member positioned at each corner of my Z. Most people were very respectful, however. Only had to ask three or four people not to touch the car.

I had a window sticker made showing Win Kelly and the prices for each optoin on the car as they would have been in 1969. There were a few kids with their parents who went nuts when they saw the car "was only $4,200." They were trying to get their parents to buy the car on the spot. It was fun listening to the parents say, "No, son, that's not what the car costs today. That's what it cost in 1969."

I had to leave the car in the showroom over night, because it was raining. Didn't sleep well and went back early the next morning to make sure she was still OK. Got her back in the trailer around 10:00 AM from the showroom.

Great event, great fun!

The new Camaro looks better in person than in any pictures I have seen.

Now, if I can just get Apple Valley to get my new car!
