Received my score sheet from Am GM nats

Postby Mddhattr » Sat Aug 02, 2008 10:41 am

I received my score sheet from the Nats. Out of a possible 200 point I scored 177. It was the typical areas. I was shocked I lost so many points int he engine compartment and interior. I'll run through them and the list might get ya'll a better idea what they are looking for. I'll post my scores after the number possible.

I'll just quote this part.

judges are to consider quality and cleanliness for the following areas. No points can be awarded for convertble top, trunk, windows, or engine if not available for inspection. Full points are to be given for spare tire on 3rd and 4th gen (cover does not have to be removed) Non GM maintanance items are allowed. Three minor changes are allowed in stock classes before deductions. ( My muffler and exhaust tips but i did make sure to install the factory radio before going up) To assist owner, please underline any items deducted for dirt, and circle those which were deducted for quailty, fit , finish. Use blank lines for addition comments.

Wow after looking at this closely, I have discovered a problem. Maybe I really wasn't a 1st place winner at the Nats. It seems they added my points wrong. I actually only scored a 172. Now if this was like a lot of other shows I've gone to ( the NMCA events at the Redmen's where they have a lot of "ties" for 1st, 2nd place etc.) the judges sometime seem to believe that two cars even if they didn't score the same number of point, are too close to determine. I'd like to think that. Or maybe i shouldn't have gotten a trophy at all. Hmmmmm.

Well, they didn't circle the specific parts but my scores are in bold at the end of the categories.
