After all of the missed deals and the a-hole that backed out on the Haulmark in Tennesse. We finally got a trailer. It's a Timber Wolf Coyote. It's 8.5 x 20. It has smooth side panels, a one piece roof, carpeted floors and the owner added diamond plate to the rear door and wheelwells. He also added a work bench and 110volt lighting.

Not a good picture, but the rear door and plated wheel wells.

Well, the Camaro is in it's new home. Not much room left. I guess since it's really just for storage I don't need much room. The only regret I have is not getting one with an escape door. Unless I buy a winch, ( one of my next purchases) the only way out is top down and step out. You sure can't open a door. I know I would have had to add ramps in the inside to have the door clear the wheelwell, but it's ok the way it is.
I also noticed it doesnt have d rings in the rear. I wonder what he used to secure his car? He put two in the front but that wouldn't stop it from moving foward. Isn't that what you would be worried about? Hitting the brakes hard and having it go foward? Lord knows my pickup wouldn't have the acceleration to have it go backwards!

BTW Joel I don't know if my fat butt could climb out the window of your car. We'll see though. I'm gonna work on the winch. How big of one would ya'll suggest? Think a 2000 lbs one would work? I know the car weighs more that that but.... Now I wished I hadn't sold that 8000 Warn I bought at the truckstop.

Well, there is a little rust on the back where the ramp is connected, but other than that it's good.

OH I know this is pulling a few mountains across the turnpike from Ohio to Breezwood, but here is the results of a trip across the Penns. turnpike. 155 miles and 15.1 gallons of high test. 10mpg at the premium price of $3.79 equals......OUCH

The great parts hunt is almost over. So far I have purchased the weight distributing hitch. A 4000 lb Superwinch from Summit. Over $225 in steel to monunt the winch and tie-downs to the frame. Now all I need to get are tire straps and a battery for the winch. DOES it ever stop?

I know I'm the only postng to this thread......BUt after tonight there ARE new updates. Joel we are getting really close to having this thing "ready". I just left the shop. The sad thing is I paid $260 for the steel I thought it would take to brace the frame. We only used maybe a 1/4 of what I bought. And, if I would've have looked around in the scrap sections at the steel distributor? Anyway can't cry over soured milk.
The good news. I have a 4000 lb Superwinch in hand. I have the rear E-track sections and connectors on hand. The tire-straps are on the way. I still need front straps but I can have those with no problem. I spent the last 4 hours having the braces welded under the trailer for the winch mount and rear tie-downs. We're getting close to being able to use this thing as a car hauler. Hopefully after this weekend..................Watch out Joel. Maybe a can-do.

Well for the rear tiedowns we used 1/4 steel plate welded to the frame and cross-members. I was going to use a piece of 4 inch channel to run across the trailer but the etrack is going to split a cross member already.
For the winch which also splits a cross-member we welded a piece of plate between the 1st and secon cross members and ran a piece of 4 inch channel legth wise between the 2nd and 3rd cross-members. This winch mounts with 2 (TWO!!) bolts. I couldn't believe that. Gonna have to get a couple of grade bolts for this.

BTW we only used 2sq ft of the 8sq ft of plate i bought and only 2 ft of the 16ft of channel. Guess I'll have to think of a project of some sort.
