I'm Wired Out...

Postby RatedZ » Thu Apr 23, 2009 7:01 am

So I got this new cd player/radio and speakers around last Xmas time and I need to install them.

The problems are that I have the Bose system in the car so it needs to be rewired. From what I understand, because of this, the car needs to be rewired. While at it, I want to remove the old wiring so I can make way for the new (weight purposes).

I'm also totally clueless as to wire up speakers, a radio, etc. I'm sure some of you guys are into that whole Sight & Sound" automobile thing, so I'm hoping someone here will know how to do this and can help me out.

Mine had the Bose system in it too, the people that replaced mine left the wiring and ran RCA's to the trunk for the amp though

I have expirence installing and setting up speakers, its really not that hard.

taking the old wires out and replacing them will probably take a full wekend to do if you want to run the wires back in the stock locations

I would offer to help you this weekend but i am on call, and next weekend we have the car show, so i could probably help around the 8th or 9th if thats cool? Let me know,

The more help we get the faster it will go even if people dont know what thier doing.

Also if you need me to list off some supplies you will need i can do that too just let me know

Thanks for offering to help out, Travis!

Unfortunately the Camaro is still in the shop (since Monday evening) with that pesky crank seal leaking again. I was really hoping to drive it tomorrow to the meeting, but it looks like I'll be taking either "Ricer Express" or "Kraut Express."

I would have already had the car back but the guy I have working on it (Tim Hudson at Hudson Automotive) was rushed to the hospital earlier this week, so hopefully it'll be done soon.

And then of course, I had my hopes up about going to the show next week, but sure enough, I get a phonecall tonight from my brother that my oldest niece is making her "First Communion." I still can't decide which is more important; the show or the ceremony. :?

It's real irritating that every time there's a meeting I have plans or that stupid car is broken down in some way, shape, or form.
