Postby RatedZ » Wed Nov 28, 2007 10:46 am

I drive a 1994 B4C Camaro. Mods are as follows:

GM LT4 Hot Cam
GM 1.6 roller rocker arms
Trick Flow 195cc heads
Speed Pro (TRW) forged pistons
Federal Mogul piston rings
Align-honed block
Bored an honed block (0.30 to 355 ci)
Decked block
Magnafluxed block
Reconditioned factory hardened pushrods
Reconditioned factory connecting rods
Polished and balanced factory crankshaft
Ported factory intake
Cloyes heavy duty timing chain
GM/AC Delco heavy duty optispark distributor
NGK FR-55 spark plugs
MSD spark plug wires
GM LT4 knock module
Hooker long-tube headers
Hooker y-pipe
Hooker cat-back exhaust
Moroso cold air intake
Hypertech throttlebody air foil
www.pcmforless.com custom PCM tuning (by Bryan Herter)
TCI 2400 rpm stall converter
Superior transmission shift kit
Polyurethane rear swaybar bushings
Polyurethane transmission mount
Polyurethane engine mounts

I'm sure there is are at least 1 or 2 things I'm bound to be missing amongst that list.

As for the performance specs, I haven't the slightest clue what kind of power it's making (builder told me, "in excess of 400-420 hp"), but I can tell you this much, the car will move out of its own way pretty good, all the while getting approximately 19 mpg on the highway.

Thanks for the compliments. It's what I like to refer to as a "50 ft car," meaning that it looks good from 50 feet away. :) It needs a little bit of cosmetic work, but we'll get there.

I also look forward to seeing your rides and meeting up!

Yeah, it needs a fender, front clip, fog lights, exhaust tips, and a panel that goes under the door.

I slid off the road in it 2 years ago on black ice. It doesn't look too bad because the fiberglass popped back into place, but it's cracked up badly.

Dan,

I am fascinated by the B4C option package. Was it rare? What years was it available? This was used primarily by law enforcement personnel, right? Can you describe the package?

Thanks,

John

Sure, John.

The B4C package was available between the years of 1991-2002. I'm pretty sure that under 5000 were produced. I don't know the numbers for any year but 1994, in which there were 668 made.

The B4C model is a Z28 in V6 trim. The only differences between the Z28 and the B4C are that the B4C has slightly thicker swaybars, and a 140-amp alternator. Leather and T-Tops were also not options on the B4C, but anything else could be had (except 1LE suspension).

Yes, the B4C package was the "special service" package, and the only ways for a citizen to obtain one was either through a used car dealership (where I got mine by accident), an auction, or brand new on a new car dealership if the agency that ordered it couldn't take ownership for one reason or another. In that case, they would be sold on a lot as new cars.

Well, a sleeper Z28 is very cool and with only 668 made, it is (or will be) very valuable!

It's not going to be very valuable with 183,000 miles on it! :)
