I saw this too Paul. The LT1 are being junked, but the LS1's are being resold because they meet the fuel requirements.

And there's no opportunity to buy these cars?

Nope, they are running Calcium Nitrate in the oil until the engines seize. That way there is no way to sell them.
After looking at the taillights I realized that is only a V^ firebird also. A V8 would have had the honeycomb lenses...

No, that's a TransAm. There weren't honeycomb lenses on the LT1 cars. The lights didn't any type of "mesh" look over them. Also, the TransAm had the two center fog lamps. That, my friend, is a wasted LT1 car.
How long to these cars have before the dealer destroys their engines? As expensive as parts are for LT1 cars, I sure could use a parts car, or even better, an LT1 car that actually runs!

I have no idea Dan. Perhaps you can try to call Apple Valley and find out.. it is worth a shot.

That would suck to see that car go to waste if it hasn't already.

I know the guy who is selling the Calcium Nitrate to dealers. He says it takes about 5-6 minutes of running the engine before it seizes completely. It's a huge waste and will make it very expensive for people to repair their vehicles as they get older.

That's what it sounds like, John.
Off the subject, but do you have any connections to some good mechanics in the area that know their way around late generation F-Bodies? Nobody seems to be able to fix one of these things!

I don't know any in the Martinsburg area. I'll ask around, though.

It doesn't matter if they're in the Martinsburg area, John. I just need to find someone to fix my car.

Got it. MD Camaro Club meeting is tonight. I've already posted on the site. I'll let you know what I find out.
Did you try the shop Travis mentioned (B n M)?

Just got this back from a MD Camaro Club member. Worth a try. Sykesville is in Carroll County, MD, about 1.5 hours from Martinsburg.
Try giving Will a call at Freedom Automotive. Stand up guy.
